It’s that carefree time of year, when we all take a collective breath and joyfully switch gears from our more structured schedules to a more relaxed lifestyle, packed with the things we love doing most with the people we love most. While you’re waiting for summer camps to kick off and family road trips to take off, gather your kiddos and get busy with these fun fillers!

An A-MAZE-ING Use for Your Toilet Paper Rolls

This first trick we’ve got up our short summer sleeve 😂 is what we like to call a graft. “What’s a graft, you ask?” It’s a game and craft all in one. Pretty clever, eh? 😉

Toilet Paper Maze

What You’ll Need:

• Four empty FIORA® toilet paper rolls
• Empty, shallow, rectangular cardboard box or box top
• Roll of clear packing tape
• Marker [any color]
• One golf ball

What You’ll Do:

Step One: Cut each FIORA® toilet paper roll in half and position them in a maze-like fashion inside your box. Be sure to leave ample space between each roll for game play purposes.

Step Two: Secure each roll [8 total] with packing tape inside your box.

Step Three: Use your marker to draw arrows between each roll to indicate the flow of the maze.

All set! Now watch the fun your kiddos have as they focus on getting the golf ball through each tube as quickly and patiently as possible.

Toilet Paper Roll Binoculars

Not to toot our own horns, but this could be one of the cutest crafts you’ll ever set eyes on. Take a look!

What You’ll Need:

• Two empty FIORA® toilet paper rolls
• Scissors
• White glue
• String or ribbon
• Construction paper or butcher paper
• Decorating supplies: markers, crayons, stickers, tissue paper [optional]
  

What You’ll Do:

Step One: Glue your rolls together — 3 dots should do the trick! Wait for the glue to dry before moving on to the next step.

Step Two: Wrap the rolls in paper around the width of the binoculars and trim off any excess with scissors. Use glue dots to secure the paper around the rolls.

Step Three: Decorate your binoculars however you choose. Color them with crayons or markers, collage with tissue paper, or embellish them with washi tape or cute stickers.

Step Four: To create the strap for your binoculars, measure and cut your string. Then use scissors to cut a small hole on the outside edge of each roll about ½ inch from the top.

Step Five: To attach the strap to your binoculars,take one end of the string and thread it through the hole you made. Tie a knot to secure and repeat with the other side of the string.

Step Six: All done. Time to explore! 👀

Butterfly Windsock

A colorful craft that’s got “summer” written all over it!

What You’ll Need:

• 1 empty FIORA® toilet paper roll
• Green paint & paint brush
• Tissue paper in fresh summer colors
• Construction paper in various colors
• Glue
• Scissors
• Single hole puncher
• Yarn for hanging
• Black marker

What You’ll Do:

Step One: Paint your toilet paper roll with green paint. Let the paint dry before you continue.

Step Two: Punch two holes [one across from the other] on the top end of the toilet paper roll.

Step Three: String the yarn through both holes and tie the string together.

Step Four: Cut long strips of tissue paper and glue them inside the toilet paper roll.

Step Five: Pick a color of construction paper for butterfly wings. Fold the paper in half and cut the wings out. It will resemble the shape of the number three.

Step Six: Choose a different color of construction paper for the butterfly body. Cut out the head and torso and glue both pieces to the wings.

Step Seven: Draw a face, decorate the wings, and glue the butterfly wings to the toilet paper roll.

That’s it! Now hang your butterfly outside and wait for that easy summer breeze.
